The Bono East Regional Coordinating Council has issued a directive to the various Municipal and District Assemblies, instructing them not to organize any durbars for this year’s National Farmers’ Day Celebrations.
The 39th edition of the National Farmers’ Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 1, 2023, with the main event set to take place in Tarkwa, Western Region.
All Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies across the country are expected to acknowledge and honor their hardworking farmers.
However, in the Bono East Region, a departure from the usual District-level celebrations is mandated, and only one central gathering will occur in Kintampo.
Nana Wiafe Akenten, the Public Relations Officer of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, clarified that this decision is aimed at enhancing the significance of the celebrations for farmers in the region.
Nana Wiafe Akenten encouraged all Municipal and District Assemblies in the region to bring their awardees to Kintampo to receive honors.
He also appealed to all stakeholders to actively support this initiative to ensure its success.
