Members of the Majority in Parliament argue that President Akufo-Addo has performed admirably by implementing various policies, including Free SHS, Planting For Food and Jobs, and 1D1F, to provide support to the people of Ghana.
They assert that the government is diligently working to position the economy favorably, and despite prevailing economic challenges, they express optimism that the 2024 budget will bring relief to the citizens.
Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei Asare highlighted that the government has been responsive to the concerns of women by removing VAT on locally manufactured sanitary pads.
This move aims to address a specific need and contribute to the well-being of women.
Dr. Stephen Amoah, Deputy Trade Minister, cautioned the minority against comparing Ghana to neighboring countries, asserting that Ghana’s economy is better managed than those of its neighbors.
He specifically mentioned that the NPP government has demonstrated superior economic management compared to the previous NDC administration.
These statements were made by the two Members of Parliament during the debate on the budget presented to the house by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
