The Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, has expressed skepticism regarding the assurances provided by Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu concerning the reconstruction of the La General Hospital.
The hospital, demolished in 2020 due to structural defects, has yet to see progress on the reconstruction project despite repeated promises.
Minister Agyemang-Manu, in a briefing to Parliament, announced that the Finance Ministry had secured €50 million in local funding for the reconstruction.
He assured that processes were underway to make payments to the contractor, with work set to commence soon.
However, MP Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, after visiting the site, conveyed her doubts about the Health Minister’s claims.
She stated that her inspection revealed a lack of visible progress, casting doubt on the sincerity of the assurances given.
The Coalition of La Youths has echoed these sentiments, expressing their mistrust in the minister’s promises.
Ossa Glover, President of the Coalition of La Youths, emphasized their lack of confidence, noting that this is the fourth time they have heard similar assurances without tangible results.
