The Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold express hope that they will receive their owed funds, despite inconsistencies surrounding the actual amount reportedly deposited by the Chief Executive Officer of defunct Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1).
NAM1 claimed in a statement that he handed over GH¢5 million to the Ghana Police Service on October 20 for disbursement to the customers of the collapsed firm.
However, the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, stated in Parliament that only GH¢2.5 million was received from NAM1.
In response to the contradictory information, Mr. Frederick Forson, spokesperson for the Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold, expressed optimism and stated that they remain hopeful that their funds will be paid, regardless of the actual amount reported.
The Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold have been seeking the release of their funds since Menzgold suspended operations in 2018, and the recent developments have added a layer of uncertainty.
However, Mr. Forson’s comments suggest that the customers are focused on the ultimate goal of recovering their investments.
