Ada MP urgently appeals for intervention in drinking water crisis

The Member of Parliament for Ada constituency, Comfort Doyoe, has urgently appealed to the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah, to intervene in the dire lack of drinking water situation in Ada.

She described how she and the Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, visited the constituency to assess the challenges faced by the local residents.

During their visit, they observed that hundreds of students were compelled to fetch water from a river that had been declared contaminated for use at their school.

She further explained that the recent drowning of two students was a direct result of fetching water from the river, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu, who also serves as the MP for Bekwai, directed that Parliament should take action to provide 100,000 bags of sachet water to be distributed to all affected areas in the Volta region, including Ada.
