Kumasi Abattoir assures safe consumption of cow meat following Anthrax concerns

The Management of Kumasi Abattoir wants to assure consumers that they have implemented measures to ensure the safe consumption of cow meat.

This assurance follows the lifting of the ban on the movement of cattle after reported cases of Anthrax, a disease that affects both animals and humans, in the Upper East Region.

People can become infected if they consume or come into contact with an infected animal.

The management is responsible for conducting surveillance to ensure that livestock imported into the region are free from the disease and safe for consumption.

They are committed to upholding the safety of cow meat in the country and will not compromise on this.

Mr. Michael Tongban, the production manager of Kumasi Abattoir Company Limited, encourages Ghanaians to consume cattle meat, emphasizing that it is free from disease.
