Ghana Insurers Association and National Insurance Commission donate relief items to Akosombo Dam spillage victims

The Ghana Insurers Association, in collaboration with the National Insurance Commission, has made a significant donation of relief items valued at over two hundred thousand Ghana cedis to assist those affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The donation includes 250 mattresses, 1,000 bags of sachet water, 50 cartons of sanitary pads, 300 3kg burner cylinders, 200 mosquito nets, and some used clothing collected from the staff of member companies.

Mr. Shaibu Ali, the President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG), highlighted that this initiative is part of their social corporate responsibility to provide support to the victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The Akosombo Dam spill has resulted in devastating floods that have left approximately 30,000 people homeless, and these relief items aim to alleviate their hardship.

Seth Aklasi, President of the Ghana Insurers Association, expressed deep sympathy for the individuals and communities impacted by the recent Akosombo Dam spillage.
