Vice President of the Republic and presidential candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasized that he considers himself a grassroots candidate and not an establishment candidate, as some of his opponents may want the public to believe.
During an interaction with a select group of media practitioners at his official residence in Cantonment, which marked the final activity of his campaign for the NPP flagbearership in the 2024 election, Dr. Bawumia shared his perspective.
He acknowledged that over the course of the campaign, he has gained a deeper understanding of the party’s members.
He firmly believes that his extensive involvement with the NPP grassroots, dating back to 2008 and spanning over 15 years, has provided him with a strong connection to the party’s core supporters. This, he contends, distinguishes him as a grassroots-oriented candidate.
