Former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, has positioned himself as the best candidate to unite the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the National Delegates Conference scheduled for Saturday, November 4.

As the governing party prepares to select its flagbearer this weekend, delegates will determine whether Vice President Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Kennedy Agyapong, and Francis Addai-Nimoh will be on the party’s ticket for the 2024 elections.

The election is anticipated to be fiercely contested, with the party appearing to be divided along different lines and camps.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto has conveyed his message to some party members ahead of the Saturday polls, emphasizing that delegates should trust him and give him the opportunity to lead the party.

He believes that he is well-positioned to bring together the various factions within the party.

Furthermore, Dr. Afriyie Akoto encouraged delegates not to be swayed by financial incentives when casting their votes for a particular candidate, underlining the importance of making an informed and independent choice.
