The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled an exhibition of the provisional voters register from Friday, November 3, 2023, to Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in preparation for the District Level Elections (DLE).
This exhibition will occur simultaneously at all 38,622 polling stations across the country, running from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the exercise.
The main objective of this exhibition is to provide prospective voters with the opportunity to verify their personal details, including their name, age, gender, and designated polling station.
They can also request amendments or additions to their information where necessary.
In addition, voters have the option to raise objections regarding the inclusion of unqualified individuals in the register or request the removal of names of deceased persons.
Samuel Tettey, a Deputy Chair of the EC, made this announcement during a press conference held in Accra on Wednesday.
Tettey stated, “As part of the commission’s preparations for the upcoming district level elections scheduled for November 19, 2023, the commission will display or exhibit the provisional voters register at all 38,622 polling stations across the country. The exhibition will take place simultaneously at all polling stations, which will serve as exhibition centers, from Friday, November 3rd, to Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.”
He further explained, “The exhibition exercise will commence at 7 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. throughout the exercise. The primary purpose of the exhibition exercise is to enable prospective voters to verify their details, such as their name, age, gender, and more, as recorded during the registration process, and to request necessary changes or additions. It will also help voters identify their designated polling stations for the day of the election.”
