President Akufo-Addo confident in the second phase of Planting for Food and Jobs, emphasizing comprehensive agricultural transformation

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the second phase of the Planting for Food and Jobs program, highlighting its focus on an input credit system that caters to all participants in the agricultural value chain.

He believes that this comprehensive approach will further enhance the transformation of Ghana’s agricultural sector.

The President anticipates that this approach will stimulate economic activities within the agricultural sector, create employment opportunities, support industrialization, boost exports, increase incomes, promote rural development, and contribute to overall economic growth.

President Akufo-Addo made these remarks during a meeting with international development partners to discuss the second phase of the Planting for Food and Jobs program at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on October 26, 2023.

He also emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluation to ensure the accuracy of data collection and analysis.

This, in turn, would help address any identified weaknesses that may affect project design, planning, implementation, and outcomes. It would also enhance accountability and facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
