The parliamentary majority has responded to allegations regarding the government’s purported sale of the National Investment Bank.

Several weeks ago, the parliamentary minority claimed that the government was planning to sell the NIB, asserting that this decision would negatively impact employment.

However, during a media address in Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh, the majority whip, refuted these allegations as false and unfounded. He encouraged Ghanaians not to be misled by them.

Additionally, he clarified that it is untrue that the Managing Director of NIB operates the bank from Canada via Zoom.

Frank Annor Dompreh further alleged that the minority members and the NDC had mishandled the bank, resulting in the misappropriation of approximately 500 million cedis.

Furthermore, he highlighted the contributions of the current management and the Finance Minister in their efforts to enhance the NIB’s operations.
