Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, criticized the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, for what he perceives as the use of tribal politics in the face of a national disaster affecting parts of the Volta Region.
Ahiagbah defended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s visit to the Volta Region, emphasizing that the NPP will resist any attempts to use ethnocentric comments to sow disunity and instability in the country.
Ahiagbah expressed concern over the NDC’s comments during their campaign in the Volta Region, where they insinuated that the government wouldn’t support the people due to their ethnicity.
He emphasized that President Akufo-Addo had proven to be a president for all Ghanaians.
Regarding the economy, Ahiagbah stated that he believes the Akufo-Addo-led government will once again improve the country’s economic situation, pointing out the economic growth achieved during Akufo-Addo’s first term.
He encouraged Ghanaians to trust in the New Patriotic Party’s leadership to deliver prosperity.
Ahiagbah made these remarks while in the Savannah Region, where he and other members of the National Communications Team of the NPP were training party communicators.
