King of Adjen Kotoku hosts breast cancer screening and health event to promote early detection

Adjen Kotoku Niikoi Tsuruman II, the King of Adjen Kotoku, organized a free breast cancer screening event on October 17, 2023.

The event also included sugar testing, eye screening, and blood pressure checkups, and it took place at the Living God Church premises, located opposite the Kotoku Presby Park.

During an interview, King Niikoi Tsuruman emphasized the importance of regular hospital visits, especially for women and ladies who may be at risk of breast cancer.

He highlighted the fact that early detection is crucial, as breast cancer may not exhibit visible symptoms.

The King encouraged everyone, particularly women, to undergo breast cancer screening regularly.

The Queen Mother of Adjen Kotoku also spoke during the interview, pointing out that October is dedicated to creating awareness about breast cancer, especially for women.

As someone born in October, she felt it was her responsibility to raise awareness about breast cancer among her people. She advised all women to follow their doctors’ recommendations and undergo regular breast checkups, as breast cancer is a global concern.

She further mentioned that many hospitals offer free breast cancer screenings during October.

Litman Medical Screening International in Tema provided insight into the issue, stating that breast cancer can affect both men and women.

Although it’s less common in men, it still occurs. The causes of breast cancer remain unclear, but factors such as family history, bleaching, injections in the breasts and buttocks, and the use of certain vaginal medications have been associated with an increased risk.

The statement made it clear that breast cancer is not due to supernatural or ancestral causes, and it strongly discouraged the use of traditional or herbal remedies to address the condition, emphasizing the importance of consulting medical professionals.
