Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called for the relocation of people who have been devastated by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam in the Volta Region.
He expressed concerns about the impact of the spillage on the educational system in the affected areas, particularly on students in their final year of Junior High School and Senior High School.
Ablakwa has also urged the Ghana Health Service to draft a public health emergency plan to address the increasing cases of typhoid and cholera within the affected area.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the affected communities receive full compensation for the harm caused, and he is determined not to let the Volta River Authority (VRA) evade responsibility for the damage incurred.
