The Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG) has launched its 2023 Brokers Awareness Month with the aim of educating the public about the services they offer.
This awareness month’s primary objective is to promote professionalism and ethical behavior within the insurance industry while also facilitating the handling of complaints from customers dissatisfied with the services provided by IBAG members.
Mr. Shaibu Ali, the president of IBAG, highlighted that the focus of this awareness campaign is on educating the public about claims administration.
The goal is to inform insurance consumers about the process of making claims, the necessary documentation procedures, and the do’s and don’ts of the claims procedure.
Mr. Shaibu Ali emphasized the role of insurance brokers as intermediaries, bringing together the insured and the insurer, and thus the need to raise awareness among the public.
The Acting Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Michael Andoh, also encouraged industry players to educate the public about insurance policy claims before providing services.
