Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined the calls for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to declare a state of emergency in areas affected by the flooding caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
Mr. Mahama noted that the scale and scope of the flooding along the Volta River is more significant than the country’s crippled economy can handle.
He recommended that the government declare a state of emergency in the affected areas and request relief assistance from bilateral and multilateral partners.
