The Dormaa Ahenkro District Forestry Manager, Mr. Oteng Dominic, has expressed concern over the loss of a forestry guard who was brutally attacked by illegal forest operators.
Mr. Oteng shared these concerns during a visit to the Nananom of Dormaa at Osagyefo’s palace.
The purpose of the visit was to seek support from the traditional council and to bring attention to the increasing illegal activities in the Dormaa forest area.
He emphasized that the Forestry Commission only recognizes approved and authorized contractors, not unauthorized ones.
He called on the media and the people of Dormaa to support the fight against illegal operators for the benefit of the Dormaa communities.
After the meeting, some of the chiefs assured the Forestry Commission of their strong support and discussed measures to combat illegal activities in the area for the safety of Dormaaman.
