Ministry of Energy hosts international energy expo to drive investments in Ghana’s power sector

The Ministry of Energy, in partnership with Big4Sure Events in the UAE, has organized the Power Energy Ghana Exhibition in Accra to attract investors to the energy sector.

This event aimed to bring together manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, dealers, and distributors of power electrical energy equipment and products, including transformers, wires, solar panels, and batteries in the electrical industry.

The Power and Energy Ghana Expo featured 100 exhibitors from various countries, such as India, China, Turkey, Nigeria, the UAE, France, the UK, and Ghana, drawing more than 4,000 visitors from Ghana and West Africa.

Ing. Sulemana Abubakari, Deputy Director of Power at the Ministry of Energy, commended the organizers of the event, emphasizing that it would create opportunities for importers in the electrical industry.

He noted that electrical traders would have the chance to connect with manufacturers and suppliers to benefit their businesses.

The Project Director of Big4Sure Events, Thomas James, explained the exhibition’s purpose, which is to facilitate connections and partnerships between industry players and attract investments in the energy sector.

The Power and Energy Ghana Expo was held from October 11 to October 13, 2023, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
