Daniel Bugri Naabu, the former Northern regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that the in-camera hearing of the committee investigating the leaked tape regarding a plot to remove the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has confirmed his belief that the audio recording was not doctored.

Bugri Naabu explained that both Superintendent Eric Gyebi and Superintendent George Asare admitted to the accuracy of their voices and the details of the conversation on the new tape, which was played during the in-camera hearing.

This stands in contrast to their earlier position during the public hearing when they denied the authenticity of the recording.

After the in-camera hearing, Bugri Naabu emphasized that the police officers, contrary to their previous stance, have now admitted to the full details of their interaction with him as captured on the tape.

Lawyer Kofi Bentil, the spokesperson for the IGP’s legal team, also confirmed that the officers acknowledged the tape’s authenticity and the accuracy of Bugri Naabu’s statements.
