A tragic incident occurred in Acherensua-Ntotroso in the Ahafo Region, where a young man known by the nickname “Sim 1” drowned in the Tano River.
The incident was confirmed by the Acherensua Akyeamehene, Nana Kwakye Ababio III.
Nana Kwakye Ababio III reported that the unfortunate incident took place when the young man fell from a dilapidated bridge into the river.
He expressed his concern, emphasizing that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred due to the bridge’s poor condition.
He called upon the government to take action in addressing the bridge’s issues to prevent further tragedies.
Residents of the area have also joined the call, urging the government to encourage the contractor to return to the site and initiate the necessary repairs to the bridge.
