His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has unveiled plans for a draft policy aimed at guiding the implementation of the National Service Scheme with the goal of reducing unemployment rates among recent graduates.
President Akufo-Addo made this announcement during the official launch of the National Service Scheme’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The proposed policy is the first of its kind and is designed to enable fresh graduates to actively contribute to the nation’s development.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized his government’s commitment to elevating the National Service Scheme (NSS) and using it as a strategic tool to address the pressing issue of unemployment in Ghana.
During his address, President Akufo-Addo congratulated all National Service personnel for their significant contributions to Ghana’s development.
The NSS has played a crucial role in facilitating the transition of young graduates into the workforce while providing essential services in various sectors of the economy.
Additionally, the Minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum, highlighted the government’s comprehensive approach to education. He mentioned that the Akufo-Addo-led government’s commitment extends beyond making Senior High School education free and accessible.
According to him, the government is also dedicated to achieving a positive transformation in basic school education, aiming to provide a solid foundation for students at all levels.
