Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah Bonsu, Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a public statement in response to recent events involving the disruption of the ‘United Showbiz’ program on UTV and allegations made against him by panelist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus.
In his statement, Owusu-Bempah expressed his lack of knowledge regarding the incident and the individuals involved.
He described the disruption of the UTV program as an “unfortunate incident” and stated that he had no connection to it.
However, Owusu-Bempah raised concerns about A-Plus’s actions during the program, accusing him of making baseless accusations and threats against him.
A-Plus had reportedly linked Owusu-Bempah to the program’s disruption and issued a threat against him, including the mobilization of individuals to harm him at Ghana Gas.
Owusu-Bempah asserted that these accusations and threats were made without any evidence or legal justification.
He announced that he had filed a formal complaint with the police regarding the threat made against his life.
In the statement, Owusu-Bempah demanded a retraction of A-Plus’s alleged defamatory remarks and an unqualified apology.
He warned that if A-Plus failed or refused to comply with his request, he would instruct his lawyers to pursue legal action to address the damage caused to his reputation and integrity.
