Kurt Okraku re-elected as GFA president for second term

Kurt Okraku has been re-elected as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a second term. In an election held in Tamale on October 5, 2023, Okraku secured an overwhelming majority of the votes, with 117 YES votes, two NO votes, and one abstention.

He ran unopposed in the election as his competitor, George Afriyie, was disqualified by both the Elections Committee and the Appeals Committee.

Okraku initially assumed office as GFA President on October 25, 2019. Despite the threat of an injunction notice, the GFA executives proceeded with the electoral process, leading to Okraku’s re-election.
