Former President Mahama vows to prioritize teachers’ welfare and training on World Teachers Day

Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his commitment to improving the future for teachers in Ghana under his next administration.

In a statement released to commemorate World Teachers Day, he highlighted the vital role teachers play in the education system and emphasized the importance of providing them with the necessary resources, support, and training to deliver high-quality education.

Mahama’s statement also emphasized the need for investing in teacher education and professional development programs to ensure well-trained and motivated teachers.

He recognized the challenges faced by teachers, including the need for better remuneration and improved working conditions.

Additionally, Mahama pledged to strengthen the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy by investing in infrastructure, expanding access to educational resources, and improving the overall learning environment in Ghana’s Senior High Schools.
