Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), visited former President John Agyekum Kufuor to offer his condolences following the passing of Madam
Theresa Kufuor, the former First Lady of Ghana. Madam Theresa Kufuor served as First Lady from January 7, 2001, to January 6, 2009, during President Kufuor’s tenure.
Mahama, accompanied by some of his former appointees, expressed sadness over the loss and paid his respects to the late former First Lady.
He praised Madam Theresa Kufuor for her dignity and acknowledged her as the “mother of the Nation” who was respected by the people of Ghana.
Former President Kufuor appreciated the visit and noted that, despite their political differences, they could come together in times of mourning.
He also mentioned that the date for Madam Theresa Kufuor’s burial would be announced once the family made a decision.
