The Abbosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association in Ghana has expressed opposition to the compliance and investigation exercise conducted by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). In a press conference, the association voiced its concerns about the GRA’s actions.
The association stated that the GRA intends to begin a compliance and investigation exercise within their shops.
They view these actions as intimidating and harassing, conducted under the pretext of inspecting tax invoices.
As a form of protest, the entire association has temporarily closed their shops to send a strong message to the government and the GRA regarding what they perceive as excessive taxes and revenue burdens imposed on traders, particularly the Abbosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association.
Mr. Takyie Addo, the head of communication for the association, addressed the media after the press conference, sharing their perspective on the situation.
The General Secretary of the association, Mrs. Gifty Fianu, also offered her insights into the impact of these actions on their trade.
