A violent clash that erupted in Ofankor, Greater Accra Region, has resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigations point to a land dispute as the catalyst for the confrontation, involving landguards and wood sellers.

Security forces, led by the police, have promptly responded to the situation and reinforced security measures in the area.

As a result, the affected road has been reopened to normal traffic flow.

The conflict escalated when landguards, allegedly acting on behalf of the landowner, descended upon the area.

They fired gunshots and looted shops, resulting in one wood seller sustaining gunshot wounds.

In response to this violence, the wood sellers retaliated. The police have assured the public that they have restored calm and are actively working to maintain peace and security in the region.
