The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Kumasi, Hon Samuel Pyne, embarked on a tour of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) centers within the Kumasi Metropolis.
During his visit, he extended his best wishes to the final WASSCE candidates and encouraged them to excel in their exams.
Hon Samuel Pyne’s visit included the following WASSCE centers: Anglican Senior High School (KASS), Arm Forces Senior High School, Prince of Peace Senior High School, and J.K Kuffour Senior High School. He was accompanied by officials from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
Addressing the students, Hon Samuel Pyne conveyed a message on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, expressing the nation’s solidarity with the candidates and wishing them success in their examinations.
He encouraged the students to become shining examples and productive members of society in the future.
The Mayor emphasized the importance of discipline and good conduct during the examination period. He cautioned the final-year students to avoid unruly behavior that could tarnish the reputation of their schools and potentially lead to disciplinary actions.
He expressed concern about reports of some students vandalizing school property and harassing teachers and staff.
In an interview with the media after the tour, Hon Samuel Pyne commended the students for their comportment in the examination halls.
He urged them to remain disciplined throughout the examination period and reminded them that acts of indiscipline would not be tolerated.
During his visit, Hon Samuel Pyne also took the opportunity to monitor the ongoing voter registration exercise at the Electoral Commission office at the Regional Coordinating Council.
He expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise and commended the EC officials for their efforts.
