Prime suspect admits involvement in murder of businesswoman in Ashanti Region

The prime suspect in the murder of Princess Afia Ahenkan, a 35-year-old businesswoman in Apaaso near Sokoban within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly of the Ashanti region, has confessed to the crime in court.

This development came to light during a recent court proceeding.

The prime suspect, identified as Allister John, had been employed as a security guard by the deceased. He, along with his accomplice, James Anokye, were apprehended through a targeted intelligence-led operation on September 14, 2023.

The suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Asokore Mampong district court, where they were remanded to appear again on October 3, 2023, as investigations into the case continue.

According to the prosecution’s presentation during the court proceedings, the alleged crime was a result of a conspiracy involving a total of five individuals, including the two suspects currently in custody.

The prosecution revealed that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining three suspects who are currently at large.
