The Pensioners Bondholders Forum Ghana has issued a stern call to the government, urging prompt payment of their three coupons and one principal payment due on Monday, September 18th.
The group has warned that if the government fails to meet its payment obligations, they will resort to picketing at the Ministry of Finance.
Speaking during a press briefing, Dr. Adu Antwi, the convener of the group, emphasized that the government should avoid any situation that might lead to pensioners not receiving their due coupons and principals on the specified dates.
He further revealed that the forum has already submitted an open letter to the Ministry of Finance, advising the removal of Category B Holders from the DDEP reopening invitation.
Dr. Antwi explained that the inclusion of Category B Holders in the reopening invitation would potentially disrupt the timely disbursement of coupons and principals to pensioners.
This action, he stated, could lead to pensioners not receiving their payments during the offer period and until the settlement date.
