In a heartfelt speech delivered on his inaugural day as President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), His Excellency Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the student body.
Addressing an audience of fellow students and esteemed members of NUGS, President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel marked the transition of leadership as a new chapter in the union’s history.
He spoke of a sense of duty to stand up for what is right, even on behalf of those who may not be fully aware of their interests.
President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel outlined a mission firmly rooted in the singular goal of development, declaring, “Development, in all its forms, is not just a goal; it is our mission.”
He expressed a commitment to student growth, empowerment, and progress throughout his tenure.
The President emphasized the importance of education in national development and pledged to ensure quality education is accessible to all, from the basic level, regardless of background or circumstances. He referred to the NUGS Basic Support Project and promised unwavering support for educational excellence.
President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel stressed the significance of diversity within NUGS, envisioning a union where every student is represented and every voice is heard. He emphasized inclusivity and promised to bring together various blocs, including PUSAG, TTAG Regional SRCs, and NMTCs, under the NUGS umbrella.
Advocacy, the President asserted, is at the core of NUGS’ mission. He promised to be a fiery advocate for students, championing their concerns and challenges through peaceful dialogue and unwavering stands.
The President concluded by calling for unity, collaboration, and shared vision within NUGS, emphasizing that their collective efforts would shape a brighter future for the union and uplift Ghana.
He urged fellow students to demonstrate discipline, integrity, and honesty in their everyday dealings, setting an example for future leaders.
President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel expressed appreciation for the outgoing administration led by H.E. Denis Appiah-Larbi and called on all stakeholders to continue supporting NUGS’ mission of development and unity.
