Ada Boat Disaster: 15 fishermen rescued, 1 confirmed dead, 3 still missing

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the Ada community, a boating disaster occurred Thursday morning involving two separate vessels, Shalom and Barcelona, resulting in the capsizing of both boats.

Out of the 19 fishermen on board, 15 have been successfully rescued alive, while one has been confirmed dead, leaving three others still unaccounted for.

The incident unfolded when a strong tidal wave struck the fishing boats, leading to their capsizing and leaving the crew members fighting for their lives.

However, the unfortunate disaster claimed the life of one fisherman, casting a somber mood over the Ada community. As of now, search and rescue operations are underway to locate the remaining three missing individuals.

The rescue teams are working tirelessly to ensure that all possible efforts are made to find these fishermen and reunite them with their families.

Julius Odoi, a journalist with Radio Ada, spoke to Hot News, sharing insights into the tragedy and its impact on the local community.

He mentioned that among those on board was a 10-year-old boy who, tragically, did not survive despite rescue efforts.
