On July 26, 2023, the Oti Regional chapter of the United Nations Association of Ghana hosted a one-day Career Seminar for candidates of the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in New Ayoma, Jasikan Municipality, Oti Region.
The seminar was held under the theme “Exploring Career Pathways: Empowering BECE Candidates.”
A total of 233 students from four schools participated in the seminar, comprising 157 males and 76 females. The main topic of discussion was “Exploring Career Pathways.”
The event featured esteemed speakers, including Mrs. Gertrude Osei, the Municipal Career and Guidance Coordinator from the Jasikan Municipal Education Service; Rev. Olympio Mantey, the Circuit Supervisor for Ayoma schools; and Mr. Wonder Kporku, a TVET Expert from the Oti Regional TVET Service.
Throughout the day, the students actively participated in various activities designed to equip them with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for their future careers.
The seminar was well-received, and the participants expressed satisfaction, requesting that similar programs be organized annually for their benefit.
The event served as a valuable opportunity for the candidates to gain insights into potential career paths and receive guidance on making informed decisions about their future aspirations.
