Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) experienced a substantial increase in its annual revenue, rising from 450 million cedis to an impressive 1.2 billion cedis after adopting digital technologies for power distribution.
Similarly, he highlighted that the passport office has witnessed a remarkable boost in revenue collection, surging from 1 million cedis to an impressive 64 million cedis.
Speaking at the National Development Conference, themed “Moral Vision and National Development,” Dr. Bawumia underscored the significant impact of Ghana’s digitization drive in combating corruption.
He noted that the implementation of digital systems has led to consistent monthly revenue records for ECG over four years, despite the rise in the number of customers.
Dr. Bawumia added that the same positive effect was witnessed at the passport office, where monthly revenue skyrocketed from 1 million cedis to an astounding 65 million cedis.
