Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has pointed out that one of the emotional factors dividing Ghanaians is ethnicity.
He expressed concern that some individuals hold the belief that their culture and religion are superior to others, leading to a sense of superiority that undermines the beliefs of others.
He also highlighted that even within Christianity, there are divisions among different groups, such as the Pentecostals and Charismatic groups, and such divisions should not be encouraged in the country.
Muntaka Mubarak attributed the high level of greed in the country to ethnicity, indicating that these divisions play a role in shaping individuals’ attitudes towards wealth and resources.
During his contribution to a statement on the floor of Parliament made by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, the MP called for unity among all Ghanaians to promote the country’s development.
He emphasized that failure on the part of leadership can lead to adverse consequences, as evident in Niger joining the list of countries in Africa that have experienced coup d’états.
