Alban Bagbin calls for moral transformation among Ghanaians to foster national development

The Rt. Honorable Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has called upon well-meaning Ghanaians to actively contribute to nation-building by not only changing their mindset but also transforming their hearts.

He emphasized that this change is crucial for fostering development in the country and upholding moral values.

Alban Bagbin expressed concern about the rise of negative traits such as greed, arrogance in public office, self-serving attitudes, cruelty, corruption, and unexplained wealth among some leaders.

These actions, according to him, have gradually eroded the once-rich moral standards of Ghana, leading to detrimental consequences for society.

The Speaker made these remarks in Parliament following his participation in the National Development Conference organized by the Church of Pentecost.

He highlighted the urgent need for a moral reawakening among Ghanaians to create a positive impact on the nation’s development.

The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, commended the Church of Pentecost for their efforts in redirecting the conscience of Ghanaians toward ethical conduct.

He stressed that if the acts of greed, corruption, and self-serving behaviors are left unchecked, future generations will bear the consequences, making it crucial for current leaders to act responsibly.

Adding his voice to the call, Minority Chief Whip and Adaklu MP, Governs Kwame Agbodza, emphasized the importance of fostering an orderly society where civility is valued.

He encouraged all Ghanaians to embrace the insights shared by various resource persons during the Church of Pentecost’s conference, aiming to promote positive change in the country.
