The Valco Trust Fund has successfully constructed and handed over a new kindergarten (KG) block to Afraso in the Amansie South District.
This initiative aims to eliminate schools under trees and improve the infrastructure of schools in deplorable conditions.
The project is aligned with the vision of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, who is dedicated to eradicating schools under trees and enhancing the quality of basic education across the country.
With the support of the Ministry of Energy, the facility comprises a two-unit classroom, a headteacher’s office, a canteen, furniture, two water tanks, separate washrooms for boys, girls, and the headteacher, and has access to electricity.
The VALCO Trust Fund, which focuses on advancing education, science, and development projects for Ghanaians, has played a crucial role in realizing this educational infrastructure project.
The Executive Director of the VALCO Trust Fund, Mr. Kelvin Kwaku Yeboah, highlighted that these new facilities aim to address the disparity in educational infrastructure allocation between less endowed communities and their urban counterparts.
During the handing-over ceremony, Mr. Yeboah urged the teachers to make good use of the facility and ensure it serves its intended purpose of providing quality education to the children in Afraso.
The District Chief Executive for Amansie South, Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi (CID), expressed appreciation to the Valco Trust Fund for their generous contribution.
He emphasized that education is a key pillar for the development of any nation, and the government has placed great importance on prioritizing educational initiatives.
