Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has emphasized the commitment of the Akufo-Addo-led government to enhance the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and ensure that NHIS cardholders have access to quality healthcare services.

According to Dr. Okoe-Boye, the government is dedicated to ensuring that no individual is denied access to quality healthcare in the country due to financial constraints.

The goal is to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to all active NHIS cardholders.

The NHIA CEO also highlighted that the government is actively working on settling NHIS claims to healthcare facilities.

This initiative aims to ensure that health facilities have the necessary resources to provide the required care to NHIA clients, including the availability of essential drugs.

Dr. Okoe-Boye made these remarks during a visit to the Upper West Region, where he paid a courtesy call on Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Regional Minister.

The visit marked the beginning of a three-day working visit to the region, during which Dr. Okoe-Boye engaged with stakeholders and assessed the state of healthcare services in the area.
