Archibald Cobbina has been elected as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ayawaso Central Municipality following the resignation of Alhaji Mohammed Ababio Quaye due to ill health.
The Assembly members unanimously voted to confirm Cobbina as the MCE, with a 100 percent endorsement.
Cobbina previously served as the Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
In his acceptance speech, he expressed his dedication to bringing development to the Municipality and improving various aspects such as sanitation, health, education, and social amenities.
Cobbina extended his gratitude to President Akufo Addo for nominating him for the position and assured the residents of Ayawaso Central that he would fulfill his duties as the MCE.
The occasion was attended by local chiefs, opinion leaders, political parties, other Municipal Chief Executives (MMDCEs), stakeholders, and members of the community.
Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central Constituency, commended the Assembly members for accepting Cobbina as the President’s nominee.
He expressed his commitment to working alongside Cobbina to bring development to the residents of Ayawaso Central.
With the election of Archibald Cobbina as the new MCE, the Ayawaso Central Municipality looks forward to continued progress and improvement under his leadership.
