NDC accuses Attorney General of selective prosecution

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a statement through its Legal Directorate, accusing Attorney General Godfred Dame of selective prosecution.

They claim that the AG has been biased in deciding which cases to pursue, pointing to the prosecution of individuals such as Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson, former COCOBOD boss Stephen Opuni, and Majority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson as examples.

The NDC Legal Directorate has called on the Attorney General to apply the same level of energy and commitment to other high-profile cases, such as the prosecution of the former CEO of Menzgold and the accused persons in the murder of JB Danquah.

They argue that the AG should not be selective in his pursuit of justice.

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the NDC, echoed these sentiments during an interview with journalists, stating that the AG should not only act as a government minister but also as a true minister of justice.
