With just three months remaining until the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential election, Japanese companies have expressed their willingness to sponsor Ghanaian football if George Afriyie is elected as the new GFA President.
Since Kurt Okraku assumed the position of GFA President, only five out of the 16 promises he made during his campaign have been fulfilled.
Recognizing the need for a leader who can transform the association and attract more sponsors, television rights, and improve playing fields, delegates are being urged to support Afriyie’s bid for the presidency.
During the previous election, Ghana missed out on securing sponsorship deals with Fox TV and Japanese companies for various leagues, including the Women’s Premier League, Division One League, Division Two League, Division Three League, and Colts football.
However, Japanese companies have now assured football delegates that if George Kwasi Afriyie is elected as GFA President, they will invest in Ghanaian football.
Afriyie’s extensive experience, having served on CAF and FIFA committees, demonstrates his capability to effectively manage the affairs of Ghanaian football.
He has identified the challenges within the sport and is the right candidate to address them.
With a remarkable track record, Afriyie has previously held significant positions such as GFA Vice President, Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Chairman of the Black Satellites, Chairman of the Black Stars B, and many others.
This vast experience and understanding of football administration make him an ideal candidate to lead the GFA and bring positive change to Ghanaian football.
As the presidential election approaches, delegates are urged to consider the potential benefits of having George Afriyie as the new GFA President.
His leadership, coupled with the promised sponsorship from Japanese companies, can propel Ghanaian football to new heights and rejuvenate the sport at all levels.
