Promotion of Anti-Gay Bill represents popular desires- John Ntim Fordjour

Member of Parliament for Assin South, John Ntim Fordjour, has emphasized that the Promotion of Proper Sexual Human Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill is a reflection of the desires of Ghanaians.

He pointed out that the bill received support from various authorities, including Parliament and the clergy.

In his remarks to journalists after the debate, Mr. Fordjour highlighted the unanimous approval and bipartisan consensus the bill received at the committee level.

He emphasized that both sides of the committee sought the opinion of the Attorney General, who contributed to enriching the bill. This process ensured that the entire Parliament was involved in the bill’s development.

Mr. John Ntim Fordjour clarified that the bill is not intended to be religious in nature or to regulate morality.

He emphasized that it is the result of intellectual consultation and is aligned with the constitution and international human rights treaties.
