The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully completed the vetting process for all presidential aspirants who are seeking to lead the party in the upcoming 2024 general elections. The vetting committee, chaired by Professor Mike Oquaye, concluded its work on July 6th, 2023.
The latest candidate to undergo the vetting process is Francis Addai-Nimoh, a former Member of Parliament for Mampong. Addai-Nimoh is making another attempt at the NPP flagbearership race after an unsuccessful bid in 2014.
Prior to Addai-Nimoh, several prominent figures within the party, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanteng, Joe Ghartey, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Boakye Agyarko, and Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, had already been vetted.
With the conclusion of the vetting process, the NPP is now moving closer to selecting its flagbearer who will represent the party in the upcoming general elections.
