The Asutifi North District Assembly, led by Hon Anthony Agyei Mensah (DCE), and accompanied by Mr. Badu Baiden (DCD), a team from the Assembly, and Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Patrick Bannor, inaugurated several projects aimed at enhancing education within the District.
The ceremony, held on July 4, 2023, was attended by esteemed guests including Maame Ama Adumadze Akwa and Madam Lawrencia Soya (National stool lands), Mr. Daniel Kojo Adarkwa (Regional Stool Lands Officer), Party Chairman Mr. William Osei, constituency executives, the District Education Director and her team, as well as party members and community representatives.
The projects, financed through Stool Lands Revenue, encompassed the construction of essential educational infrastructure. These included a fully furnished six-unit classroom block with an office, computer laboratory, and auxiliary facility in Bogyampa. Additionally, a three-unit classroom block, equipped with furniture, an office, computer laboratory, and auxiliary facility, was established in Donkokrom.
Similarly, a three-unit classroom block, complete with learners’ and teachers’ tables and chairs, an office, computer laboratory, and auxiliary facility, was commissioned in Kwadwokrom.
Following the commissioning, a sod-cutting ceremony took place in Goamu Asamang, marking the initiation of a sanitation-focused toilet facility project.
During the commissioning ceremonies held at the respective schools, the DCE emphasized that these projects formed an integral part of the Assembly’s developmental agenda to enhance education in the district.
He commended the National & Regional Stool Lands Department for their support and expressed gratitude to the government led by President Akufo-Addo for their commitment to the progress of Asutifi North.
Hon Anthony Agyei Mensah(DCE) further emphasized the need to appreciate the government’s efforts while continuing to advocate for additional development projects.
Hon Patrick Bannor echoed the sentiment, expressing his belief that the timely completion of these projects would significantly benefit the communities. He commended the contractor for their diligent work and adherence to the schedule.
Hon Bannor reaffirmed the commitment of duty-bearers to collaborate with stakeholders in identifying community needs and providing appropriate solutions.
He urged the District Education Director to ensure the proper maintenance of the facilities while promising continued efforts to address other pressing challenges in the education sector.
The District Education Director, Mrs Naomi Asantewaa, acknowledged the significant infrastructural improvements witnessed in the district’s schools during her tenure.
She expressed gratitude to the DCE and MP for their continuous support and pledged to oversee the effective utilization and maintenance of the newly provided facilities.
