NPP unveils Vetting Committee for Presidential Primary Election

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formed a vetting committee in preparation for the Party’s Presidential Primary Election.

The committee, consisting of eleven members, was unveiled at the NPP Headquarters and was selected by the National Steering Committee during a meeting held on May 30, 2023.

The primary responsibility of the vetting committee is to conduct a thorough examination and assessment of the ten party stalwarts who have submitted their forms to compete in the flagbearer race.

This vetting process is crucial as it will play a significant role in determining the NPP’s presidential candidate for the upcoming election.

Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye has been appointed as the Chairman of the Vetting Committee by the National Steering Committee.

Other members of the committee include Kwasi Amoako Atta, Stephen Abankwa Sekyere, Osei Bonsu Amoah, Lord Oblitey Commey, Frank Davies, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, and Adelaide Ahwireng.

Osei Bonsu Amoah, the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency and a member of the Vetting Committee, has been appointed as the spokesperson for the committee.

Additionally, Evans Nimako, the Director of Research and Elections for the Party, has been appointed as the Secretary for the Committee.

The vetting process is set to take place within a week, and its outcomes will have a significant impact on determining the NPP’s presidential candidate for the upcoming election.
