Bisland Charity Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has successfully commissioned and handed over a mechanized borehole to the residents of Amoa-Apagya in the Afigya Kwabere South district of the Ashanti region.
The project, which was implemented at a cost of GHS 450,000, was fully funded by the NGO with the aim of addressing the acute water challenges faced by the community.
During the official handing over ceremony, Mr. James Donkor Junior, the President of the Bisland Charity Foundation, stated that the project is part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. The foundation is dedicated to supporting communities in need and improving their living conditions.
In addition to the borehole, the Bisland Charity Foundation also provided books, jerseys, and desktop computers to the Apagya community, further enhancing educational opportunities and resources for the residents.
Nana Owusu Peprah II, the Chief of Amoa-Apagya (Apagyahene), expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the Bisland Charity Foundation for their generous gesture and support.
The chief acknowledged the significant impact that the commissioned mechanized borehole would have on the community, especially in addressing the persistent water challenges faced by the residents.
