Godwin Ako Gunn, the National Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that during the by-election in Assin North, party members had to sleep in tents and cars due to the unavailability of hotel accommodations.

In a statement, Gunn mentioned that the NDC executives faced difficulties in finding hotel rooms because they were fully booked by the “rich” executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Assin North and nearby towns.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Gunn emphasized that the motivation to secure victory in the by-election propelled them forward, even though they had to endure sleeping in tents and cars.

“It wasn’t rosy as the rich NPP took over all the hotels and forced us to sleep in tents and cars. They weren’t comfortable, but the motivation to win – evidenced by the vim and zeal of our Branches and Civil Society Organizations, among others, got us going,” the notice stated.

Mr. Godwin Ako Gunn expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all respected senior comrades, national, regional, constituency officers, and volunteers who selflessly left their comfort zones to contribute to the success of the Assin North by-election.

He acknowledged their dedication, hard work, and commitment, recognizing that their efforts played a crucial role in achieving a positive outcome. Their collective determination and support were instrumental in defying the odds and making the by-election a success.

Furthermore, Mr. Gunn extended his appreciation to the people of Assin North for their unwavering love and willpower. Their active participation and support were vital in shaping the outcome of the election.

Through his statement, Mr. Gunn demonstrated his recognition and gratitude towards the individuals and the community who played integral roles in the success of the by-election.

“This is a lesson for all constituencies,” the notice emphasized.
