Sarkodie replies Yvonne Nelson in his new song “Try Me”

Musician Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has addressed his side of the story regarding his involvement with actress Yvonne Nelson and the controversy surrounding their alleged abortion in a newly released track.

In Yvonne Nelson’s recently published book titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,’ she revealed that she had a relationship with Sarkodie in 2010, which resulted in a pregnancy.

She shared that she decided to terminate the pregnancy because Sarkodie did not take responsibility and she later discovered that he had another girlfriend studying abroad.

However, in Sarkodie’s response track titled ‘Try Me,’ which directly addresses Yvonne Nelson, he denies ever encouraging her to have an abortion.

He states that while he was not ready to be a father, he advised her to keep the pregnancy, but Yvonne chose to proceed with the abortion due to her schooling at the time.

Sarkodie mentions that there were certain things he thought would remain private and undisclosed, implying that the abortion could have remained a secret. However, he acknowledges Yvonne’s bravery in sharing her story but asserts that she cannot selectively choose what to disclose to the world.

Furthermore, Sarkodie cautions Yvonne not to portray herself as a victim seeking love and advises her not to provoke him.

In the track, he sings, “Baby girl make you no try me,” emphasizing that Yvonne should not provoke him or misrepresent their past.
