Speaker of Parliament urges churches to engage actively in national affairs

During the induction ceremony of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, emphasized the need for the church to actively engage in national affairs.

Bagbin expressed his concern over the declining interest of the church in matters pertaining to the nation and politics, noting that it has had severe consequences on the moral and social fabric of the country.

While acknowledging the power of prayer, Bagbin emphasized that prayer alone is not sufficient and called for action to address the challenges facing the country.

He urged the church to take a proactive role in promoting good governance, social justice, and economic development.

Bagbin highlighted the influential position of the church and called on its members to utilize their influence to combat corruption and other forms of injustice.

He encouraged the church to speak out against wrongdoing and actively contribute to the betterment of society.

Bagbin also emphasized the importance of the church’s active involvement in national affairs, urging its members to move beyond prayer and actively participate in efforts to address the challenges facing the country, promote good governance, and foster social and economic development.
